Hi.

Welcome!  Here is where you can find when and where I am teaching and cooking, or maybe sometimes, what is on my mind. Hope you have a nice stay!

Tart Summer Smoothie

Tart Summer Smoothie

I started making this smoothie around the middle of April. I was running out of my “normal” smoothie fillers and just started tossing in what I had on hand. It was, for me, the most enjoyable smoothie I have every made.

I should state here that I’m not a huge fan of smoothies. They are ok, and sometimes even nice, but usually I find them chalky, a little bland, and well, just rather boring. This smoothie is tart, gingery, and almost a little effervescent, deffinately leans toward my taste preferences. ( Jeff has an entirely different opinion of this smoothie.)

So, give it a shot, you may side with me, or, you may side with Jeff, but I think it’s worth a try:)

1/2 cup frozen strawberries

1/2 cup frozen bananas

1/4 cup collagen

1 inch peeled ginger root

1 handful spinach

3/4 cup kombucha (any flavor)

1/2 cup sparkling water (any flavor, or plain)

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

I have now tried it with a variety of different kombucha, and sparkling waters. It is always good and a little different. I will list my favorite blend to date, but, truly, I have tried multiple with only pleasing results.

Favorite blends to date:

Coconut La Croix with Mango Passion Fruit Humm Kombucha

Plain sparkling water with Homemade Peach Kombucha

I hope you enjoy!

Namaste

Irene
