Hi.

Welcome!  Here is where you can find when and where I am teaching and cooking, or maybe sometimes, what is on my mind. Hope you have a nice stay!

A Few Of My Favorite Things in 2019

A Few Of My Favorite Things in 2019

I’m sitting here working on gift ideas for family and friends as Christmas quickly approaches. I am a huge fan of giving the gift of experiences, but, things are nice, especially when they are good and useful things! I also find the the best way to find useful things is to ask people I know what they like and why.

I’m not sure that anyone has asked for my opinion on my favorite things over this last year, but, just incase you are wondering as you search for gifts. Here you go! * It would be good to note here that none of these products are asking me, paying me, or even know that I decided to do this random favorite things post! It is all purely my unsolicited opinion.

Body care:

Kopari deoderant. I am loving this product! It is a natural product that has a lovely smell and doesn’t give me any kind of underarm rash. The scents are lovely, but they also have an unscented for those who prefer that option. This company also has a few other products I like, but the truth is, the deodorant is what keeps me coming back.

The body cloth by Norwex. I was honestly very leery of this little cloth when I decided to do a challenge with it at the beginning of the year. I was SHOCKED at how well I liked it! It is now what I use for all of my body washing needs. I still like a little soap every now and then, but, the product has helped me eliminate a fair amount of packaging from our lives, helped with my dandruff( I know too much information), and is fantastic when we are traveling!

Favorite yoga equipment:

Feet up: This little contraption has changed the way I practice inversions. It’s changed the way I teach inversions. It has given me a fun new way to work my core, and I love it!!!

Prana mat. Ok, this is more of an acquired taste, but, it works. This mat or pillow is a fancy way of laying on a bed of nails. If you have tension, this helps. Period.

Yoga mats. There are so many great yoga mats on the market these days. This article really helped me to narrow down my search for the best toxic free eco friendly yoga mat out there. The link for this is more informational then a specific product, but, I found it very helpful in my search.

Favorite Sunglasses:

Sunski. I have loved these polarized, affordable, warranty covered glasses for years! I loved them so much we included a pair for each guest to our 2019 Maui yoga retreat. I’m not sure I will l own a diffrent brand any time soon…. It will take a fair amount of convincing.

House Goods:

Ruggable. They really are worth all the hype. We have now needed to wash our rug multiple times for unpleasant reasons. Every time we lay it back out I am both thankful and shocked and thankful even more. They will definitely be the rugs in our home until we no longer have pets or children, so, for many years to come.

Lovesac. We love our giant beanbag pillow. It can turn into a double mattress for company, or as a wrestling mat, or just a nice place to cuddle with littles and dogs.

Toilet paper. It may be interesting that toilet paper would make my list, but, here it is. Who gives a crap, (yes, that’s the name) is making a great product and doing good in the world with the profits. Check it out, and you can save $10 on your first order with the link above!

Wiremonkey bread lame. So, this might not be for everyone, but, I love mine! A bread lame is essentially a razor blade used to score the tops of your loaves of bread before baking. If you have a bread maker in your life, this is my favorite lame I have used!

Cast iron pan. Just get one. Then use it. For almost everything. There are some amazing brands out there (someday I will get a Smithey) , but, my good old Lodge ones are both affordable and work great.

Favorite Experience:

If you are looking for a gift of experience, join me in Costa Rica in June! It will be a week full of new experiences, strengthening yoga practices, and delicious food! (I just had to put one of my products on my favorite list!!!!) After all, it really is my very favorite of all!! And, why not shamelessly promote on my own blog….

These items are a few of my favorites for sure. I hope you find this list useful in your gift shopping, or personal shopping, or just interesting in some way!

Namaste

Irene
